Fire Drill Follies
Well, around 10am this morning, my office had a fire alarm go off. If it isn't bad enough that it is cold outside, I am also one of the Emergency Response Team members for my building. I am still not really sure how that happened, but anyway. So, the alarm goes off and the fire alarm lights start blinking and we all go downstairs to wait for further instructions. While it is a bit cold outside...ok...30 degrees, we aren't outside for very long.
However, it is now 2:30pm and my floor has yet to have the heat restored nor do we have the flashing light turned off. Basically, it seems as though we are having some type of office rave complete with strobe lights. I can't even get into how difficult that makes it to work on a computer. Insane.

Thanksgiving Fun
Ok, so it has been a while since I posted last and that is because I did not have access to a computer over the recent holiday.

The holiday was a good one, spend mostly eating and enjoying numerous family games of pop culture trivia. Due to the fact that my aunt was getting beaten in all these games, she has now decided that she will be watching hour after hour of E! Television. All in all, it was a good holiday although it was over a bit too quickly, but then, which holidays aren't these days.

Alias and Redskin Football
Ok, so on Sunday night I was all prepared to sit down and watch a kick arse episode of Alias. Unfortunately, I was treated to an evening of Redskin football, wherein the Redskins didn't even win.

So, they said that it would be on 2 and a half hours after the game so that they could show reruns of the West Wing and ER. Whatever. Anyway, I did finally get to see it, and man was it awesome! I am so glad that show has gotten such a following. I just hope that it keeps building up its audience. So, if you aren't watching it, you should!

ER
Are there any ER fans out there? I used to be a huge fan, but must admit, like many others, my interest has been waning in the show. However, last night's episode was pretty good. Except for the horridness that was Romano's last line. It actually evoked laughter from me. Not sure if that was the intention, but it was certainly the result. And, I wasn't the only one laughing either...

Dental Update
Well, today's dentist appointment went much better than Wednesday's and now, finally, I can enjoy a meal again, or at least enjoy chewing a meal again. For that, I am very grateful.

The O.C. Age Differences
Not sure if anyone tunes into the new Fox hit, The O.C., but the following is an interesting look at how their ages stack up. See if you can determine a pattern.

Ok, on the OC in real life, here are the actor's ages:

Sandy(48) Kirsten(36) parents of Seth(23) and adoptive of Ryan(25)

Ryan(25) is going out with Marissa(17) who is the daughter of Jimmy(40) and Julie(31)

Now, we have the other two--Summer(22) and Luke(23)

For the age thing to work out, Kirsten would have had Seth when she was 20 and Julie would have gotten pregnant in high school.

Ok, this is my second day of doing this, and since I don't have much interesting news to report, I thought I would just link to some of today's news stories:

More Terrorist Blasts in Turkey

CIA Looks into Iraqi Intelligence

Michael Jackson in Mucho Trouble

Thoughts on any of this?

Laundry Fiasco
Ok, so there are apparently some things that did happen last night. This next entry comes from one of my friends who seems to have had a bit of a domestic issue:

so last night i'm doing laundry and put my stuff in the dryer for an hour and go back to my apartment. An hour later i go down to get my laundry and discover that my wet clothes have been removed from the dryer and are on the table, still wet, with 3 quarters by them (what it cost for my 60 minutes). Well there was only 2 minutes left on the dryer so I removed the man's clothes and put mine in there, unfortunately his had successfully dried all the way. Now I did notice then that the other 2 dryers are not working so I gave the man the benefit of the doubt (he did return my 75 cent) and thought maybe, just maybe, he had some sort of extreme emergency that he needed to remove my clothes and dry his immediately and would right them come running in since they were done, apologize profusely and be on his way. However, I put in my 3 quarters and sat down there reading for the hour my clothes dried, hoping to come in contact with the scoundrel. Alas, after another whole hour, ruining my emergency theory rendering me full of rage since it was 11pm before my clothes were done. However, I am happy to report that the since he wanted the dryer so bad I also included with his pile of clothes the lint that they created since he might want that too. Also, his godsmack t-shirt somehow fell on the floor and his pile of dried laundry may or may not have landed on a few of my overused tissues. I considered actually spending 75 more cents and putting his clothes in the washer again or simply saving my money and fetching a bucket of water to place them in. I also considered scattering his clothes about the laundry room floor, also thought of stealing socks so he didn't have a complete pair, considered putting his clothes in the courtyard, considered stuffing clothes behind the dryer where he couldn't get them, considered relieving myself on clothes. Taking into account all the things I could have done, I think I acted pretty mature!

I think we should all applaud her behavior
